At 11:59 p.m. last night, over 46,000 General Motors workers went on strike after the auto company failed to come to an agreement with them on wages, health care, and job security.
And President Trump didn't even know the facts.
Trump tweeted, "Here we go again," even though this is the first UAW strike in 12 years.
I'm not surprised -- and I know you're not either. We've seen this before with the closure of the GM plant in Lordstown, Ohio. The president doesn't care about workers. He'd rather send empty tweets and break promises than actually do something about the issues facing American workers.
Even if Trump won't, you can bet we're going to do something about it. I need you to stand up again for the workers Trump has forgotten by signing our petition.
This is about fair wages. It's about access to affordable health care. It's about workers getting their fair share of the profits they help create. It's about safeguarding their jobs from closing facilities and indiscriminate layoffs.
This is about the Dignity of Work.
If Trump won't stand up for the Dignity of Work, we will. Join us by signing our petition today.
With gratitude,
Sherrod
