Hello,
NYT: “For the sixth time in less than 24 hours, Twitter on Wednesday flagged tweets by President Trump for violating its rules because they included unsupported claims of widespread election fraud and premature declarations of victory in key battleground states.”
Twitter is just one of many social media platforms grappling with the avalanche of misinformation Trump has unleashed since Election Day. It’s certainly a step in the right direction that users can’t read Trump’s tweets without a warning. But Twitter’s flags still don’t stop his messages from being circulated and propagated among his virtual network of supporters, causing widespread confusion and anxiety in the process.
According to POLITICO, “Democratic lawmakers and progressive groups called on the social media platforms to suspend Trump’s accounts, saying their current policies of labeling his misleading rhetoric still allows dangerously false narratives to proliferate online.”
There’s no question that in this day and age, the public heavily relies on social media as a critical source of knowledge and information. Do you think Trump should be held accountable for intentionally disseminating lies and misleading propaganda? Tell us now:
