John,
As you have probably heard, Joe Biden has been elected our next President of the United States and Kamala Harris has been elected our next Vice President.
This is a historic day. Kamala Harris will be the first Black Vice President, and first woman Vice President in our nation.
And while the count is ongoing, I am ecstatic to report that the state of Georgia looks to be a part of this momentous victory. Much of that is due to surging voter turnout here in GA-04, where we drove up huge margins for the President-elect in Gwinnett and Dekalb counties. That’s to say, this victory is because of you.
But while we take this moment to celebrate and rest, we cannot rest for long. In January we will have two Senate races in Georgia that will likely determine the fate of the Senate Majority. President-elect Biden will be counting on us to deliver him a Senate that will work with him to protect and expand the Affordable Care Act, pass police reform, and provide badly-needed relief to families and small businesses suffering during the COVID crisis.
I pledge to do everything I can to flip Georgia blue again in January. But for today, I will pause and celebrate with you. Let’s take this weekend, and then let’s keep our movement going full speed ahead!
In solidarity,
Hank
