We did it. The race has officially been called, and I am proud to have the opportunity to continue representing Nevada’s 3rd Congressional District.

I want to start out by saying thank you. To everyone who voted for me, chipped in, volunteered, or cheered us on: YOU are what made this campaign possible.

I ran for Congress because the government that worked for my working class family seemed to quit working for millions of Americans who are struggling to just get by. The partisan games, dysfunction, and gridlock were leaving many Americans feeling like there isn’t a path forward in dealing with some of our greatest challenges.

I ran for Congress because I believed that Southern Nevadans deserve a bipartisan, productive leader who would work with anyone who will get results for working families.

Together, we’ve created a strong and diverse coalition to fight for expanded access to health care, a cleaner environment, and a more equitable public education system.

Together, we protected a battleground district in a battleground state despite facing multiple voter suppression lawsuits, more than $2.5 million in dark-money attack ads, and the President personally supporting my opponent.

I am so proud of this people-powered campaign that has fought tooth and nail to bring opportunity to every Nevadan.

But make no mistake: National Republicans made this race closer than any cycle in recent history -- and they’re determined to come back stronger and harder next time around.

For now, we rest. Then, we get back to work and continue to fight for Southern Nevada.
