Truth is Needed in This Hour

Dear John,

During this unprecedented year, our nation is facing yet another challenging situation: we do not currently know the outcome of the November 3 presidential election.

As I write this, ballots in various states are still being counted, and results could still face court challenges.

Even the most reliable political analysts I've spoken to are unsure exactly when or how this will be resolved. Many of our fellow Americans are consumed with confusion, concern, or even fear.

Hundreds of millions of people are watching the election coverage and wondering: what's next?

Rather than tune into the media spin machine, I encourage you to listen to a special post-election video edition of our daily Washington Watch radio program where I was joined by experts like Reince Priebus, Ken Blackwell, J. Christian Adams, and others to help break down what the election process looks like in the days ahead.

I also hosted a special call to prayer on Wednesday night, along with FRC Board Chairman Michele Bachmann and Pastor Jack Hibbs, where we prayed for transparency, for vigilance and caution on the part of election officials, for peace to reign throughout America, and above all -- the Lord's provision for our great nation.

The words of Psalm 47:8 are relevant for us today: "God reigns over the nations; God sits on His holy throne." (ESV)

As Christians, we are called to be faithful... no matter the election results.

We do face some uncertainty at this moment about what direction our nation is heading.

If former Vice President Joe Biden is declared the winner, Americans will face even more unknowns in the season ahead.

For months, his answers regarding several policy positions -- most notably the Supreme Court and "court packing" -- have been unclear despite these issues being raised in several forums.

If President Trump is reelected, questions remain of whether and how our bitterly divided country can begin to heal... or will we see Congress engage in endless partisan battles with the White House?

In this sea of unknowns, you can count on Family Research Council to seek and speak truth. We are standing firm for your faith, family, and freedoms in this critical hour. In fact, many people have reached out to me, asking for help in navigating these turbulent waters. Rest assured, FRC will keep our hand on the wheel as we follow the Lord's guidance.

Now is not the time to shrink back in fear or give up in despair.

I believe God has a plan... and perhaps part of our role as His remnant is to pray it in.

We need to petition not the Supreme Court, but the courts of heaven.

Let's continue to appeal to heaven on behalf of state election officials, who will be certifying the election results in each of their states.

Proverbs 16:11 states: "A just balance and scales are the Lord's; all the weights in the bag are his work." (ESV) My family and I have been praying for the integrity of the voting process. Will you join us?

And will you also prayerfully consider a timely and vital gift to FRC today to ensure that we can keep Americans informed and engaged? We have much more to accomplish as we move ahead with faith in the Lord to advance His Kingdom.

Now is the time when a lost and confused world needs our voice of truth most.
