John,

Experts on both sides of the aisle warned for months that this election could undermine democracy. And while shocking and false allegations of fraud from our own President continue at this very moment, the door appears to be closing. Should the threats to our democracy escalate, we remain vigilant and ready — and we need you to be ready to take action at a moment’s notice.

For now, Biden was declared the victor, and we’ve got work to do.

We must push President-elect Biden to make democracy issue number one. Click here to tell Biden to impose tough rules on abuse of presidential power and ethics; and to champion anti-corruption laws America has needed for decades.

In the last four years, it became clear that checks and balances on the presidency have been chipped away, or honored by tradition rather than codified by law. President-elect Biden has a responsibility to restore trust in the office of the presidency.

As much as people want to point the finger at one politician and believe that a new president is the solution, it’s just not that easy. The system itself needs reform. Our campaign finance, ethics, and transparency laws are weak and outdated. Our elections need to be quickly modernized. We need to bring competition and new ideas to politics through Ranked Choice Voting and a crack down on anti-American gerrymandering.

To make sure fighting corruption is a top priority for Biden’s transition team, we need to speak out and show there's a public mandate to act. Will you add your name right now to our petition demanding Biden promise the American people that he will restore limits on presidential powers and champion anti-corruption laws?

Thank you for continuing to take action to defend our democracy.
