More Americans voted than ever before.
John,

The results are in and they are decisive: More people voted in the 2020 elections than ever before in the history of our country. Millions of Americans made their voice heard -- and many for the very first time.

This year tested us like no other. Despite a global pandemic and all of the efforts to make it harder to get registered and vote, we proved nothing will stop us from casting our ballot.

I couldn’t be more proud of When We All Vote volunteers and supporters like you, John. Every conversation you had with friends, family, or classmates about voting, every text you sent, or donation you made brought us closer to our goal of increasing voter participation in these elections and paving the way for elections to come.

Now, we have to find a way to come together as a country. As we grapple with a global pandemic, racial injustice, and widespread economic inequality, we’ve seen how our elected officials can determine so much about our communities and our daily lives.

So whatever you do, don’t tune out -- stay involved. While we know the presidential result, now we have to ensure the voters’ will is carried out.

Because the basis of American democracy is that we pick our leaders -- our leaders do not pick their voters. When we all vote, everyone has their say in creating the country we want to see. Every election matters and I need you to show up for every single one of them.

Take care,

Michelle Obama
