Dear John,

Have you ever experienced soul-crushing fear or anxiety that paralyzed you to the point that you felt like you couldn’t breathe?

Each day, we encounter women who face such difficult circumstances that they can’t see a way out of their pain. The thought of giving birth to a child when their lives are in utter chaos is overwhelming. They have been told so many times they can’t do it; they don’t believe they can.

But, because of you, these very women are receiving the help and hope they desperately need! We see death defeated in our women’s care clinics, from community to community, as women say “yes” to life.

We see life prevail in our virtual, pro-life clinics in Texas and Pennsylvania as hurting women discover they are not alone. As burdens are shared, women become empowered to choose life—women like Deanna.

“My resources were telling me, ‘No’ [to having my baby]. Friends [who had known me] for years were telling me, ‘No’ [to having my baby].”

Deanna’s childhood had been riddled with abuse. She didn’t have anyone to speak love and encouragement into her life. Instead, the constant message she received growing up was that she would end up like her drug-addicted mother.

When Deanna became pregnant, all she felt was shame and fear.

Her past came screaming back at her,

You’re going to be a single mother!
You can’t do it. You will end up like your mother.
It’s more than you can handle.

“Thankfully, at the women’s care clinic, there were people who gave me hope, love, nurturing, and support. I was thriving off of fear. I was so afraid of what people would think of me because I wasn’t married."

"I am so thankful for this organization that gave me courage and love and help when I needed it.”

As our team encouraged and supported Deanna, her fear and shame began to give way to peace and joy. She started to believe that she could be successful as a single parent.

John, because of caring partners like you, Deanna chose life and welcomed her healthy baby boy, Major, into the world.

She said, “I can’t imagine having chosen a different path. God chose me to be his mom, and I almost missed out on a lifetime of loving this boy.”

Every day, through our contact center and in our women’s care clinics, our care staff speak words of restoration and encouragement into the hearts of hurting and scared women, just like Deanna.

Tapestries of life-giving care are woven to make choosing life possible so that children like Major get a chance to grow up.

Because of you, moms are choosing life and finding hope. And children are experiencing the gift of life!

It is tragic, however, that so many women at high risk to abort don’t know there is help available to them.

Our data indicates that:

• 1 in 5 women are pressured to abort
• 2 out of 5 women are below the poverty line
• 1 in 2 women say they are Christians
• 1 in 3 have no health insurance
• 3 out of 5 need a friend

The women we help who seek abortions are desperate. Like Deanna, many have never heard words of encouragement.

Repeatedly, “I can’t” echoes in their heads.
