Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have been elected as our 46th President and Vice President of the United States.
The fight against Trump’s plan to build a border wall on the Southern border will finally be over. We will no longer be faced with the threat to cut off funding for Social Security. We can look forward to a future with more opportunity for growth and progress for all.
As we plan for what comes next, it’s important to acknowledge that our democracy is sacred and not to be taken for granted. We must continue to participate in our democracy for ourselves, our family and future generations.
I’m proud to stand with my fellow colleagues in the House and safeguard our Democratic majority. But the election is not over. There are numerous House races that remain uncalled and two runoff elections that will take place on January 5 that could determine control of the Senate majority.
While we’re celebrating our victory, let’s stay engaged and keep the energy strong. Our democracy is too important to become complacent.
