Friends,
Today, Joe Biden was declared winner of this election. He will be our 46th President of the United States.
I am so happy to extend my sincerest congratulations to Joe -- and to our next Vice President Kamala Harris, who will become the first woman to serve in this role. (The first of many, I expect.)
Joe ran an incredible campaign -- and the results show it.
Joe Biden won the popular vote by over 4 millon. He received more votes than any presidential candidate in history.
And he made inroads in states Democrats normally wouldn't dream of winning, like Georgia.
This was a long road, but with Joe Biden in charge, we can finally start getting our country back on track. We can begin to heal our country's divisions. We can get control of the COVID-19 pandemic which is currently ravaging our country and getting worse every day.
I am so proud of all the work we have done to get here, and so happy to congratulate Joe Biden on his victory, because it isn't just a victory for him. This is a victory for all Americans who want to see real leadership from the White House again.
We did it.
All my best,
Tammy Duckworth
