VPAP's Latest Data Visualizations
One State, "Two Elections" ([link removed])
This year, Virginia held what amounted to two distinct presidential elections. One took place on Election Day, with President Trump the clear victor, claiming 61% of the traditionally-cast ballots. The other played out during the six weeks leading up to Nov. 3, as early and absentee voters overwhelmingly backed Joe Biden, giving him nearly 65% of those votes. These maps ([link removed]) illustrate the stark outcomes of the "two elections".

"Home Cooking" Ain't What it Used to Be ([link removed])
Figuring out how candidates fared in their home precincts is no longer a straightforward exercise. In the era of early voting, precinct-level results are only available for ballots cast on Election Day.
Republican Early Voting Picked Up at the End ([link removed])
By the time in-person early voting ended Saturday in Virginia, Republicans appeared to have narrowed the gap in absentee voting, according to party-affiliation projections from L2 Political. This visual also looks at the age and gender of Virginia's 2.7 million early voters.
