Dear team,
After days of waiting for election results, we now know that Joseph R. Biden, Jr. will be the next president of the United States. It has been a difficult and painful four years, but today we begin moving forward to the future.
There is opportunity ahead of us. Please make a very special gift today to help us continue the important work to protect and advance reproductive rights around the world.
President-elect Biden has the opportunity to put human rights and human needs at the center of a new U.S. domestic and foreign policy agenda. He ran on a platform committed to an America that respects and embraces its broad diversity and promotes health care as a human right, including protecting and advancing reproductive health, rights, and justice.
We must also pause and take stock of the ceiling-shattering of Kamala Harris as the Vice President-elect: the first woman, the first African American, and the first South Asian American in this role. Vice President-elect Harris has a strong reproductive rights record.
We are ready to work with the new administration to undo the harmful policies of the Trump administration and to advance reproductive rights as fundamental human rights in the United States and abroad.
We are in it for the long haul and I know you are, too. We could not have gotten through the past four years without you. Thank you for being with us.
Onward!
Nancy Northup
President & CEO
