Friend,
From the beginning, Joe Biden has called this race a battle for the soul of this nation, and today, hope and unity triumphed over fear and division. This victory was the culmination of four years of sweat and tears, of sleepless nights, and of brave persistence in the darkest moments.
Through those dark moments, we have built a movement powered by a deep, radical kindness that inspires us to fight harder for our neighbors than for ourselves, and there is no better example of that than Joe Biden. He will be a president for all Americans, and work to heal deep divides with overwhelming compassion and decency that has been absent from our nation’s highest office for far too long.
And Kamala Harris--she’s no stranger to breaking barriers and winning big fights. Her historic election as the first woman and person of color to be Vice President of the United States, shows young people everywhere, especially young women of color, that they are strong, they are powerful, and there is no office, position, or future to which they cannot aspire.
Joe and Kamala will draw on the best of us, lead with honesty and integrity, and build our country back better than before. That rebuilding begins now--and our work is far from over--but for now, we’ll rest easy for the first time in a long time, knowing that brighter days are soon to come.
