Dear John, While we don’t yet know the final makeup of the Senate, there is still so much to celebrate about Joe Biden’s election. For four years, we’ve seen the Trump administration, Mitch McConnell, and their allies damage our courts, disregard the rule of law, and sow division in this country. They have rigged our courts with ultraconservative ideologues, undermining our judicial system’s independence. We, along with so many of you, fought this administration every step of the way. And now, with a Democratic White House, there is a chance to restore fairness and independence to our justice system and our courts. We know it won’t be easy, but we’ve been preparing for this moment for years. We promise to fight to ensure the Senate does its job and confirms the qualified, diverse nominees the Biden administration puts forward. It cannot be another four years of a do-nothing Senate. But that is a fight for tomorrow. Today, Americans can breathe a sigh of relief that Trump’s extremist rule will soon come to an end.
