Over the last four years, people like you have fought every day to stop the Trump administration's attacks on the most basic protections for people and the planet. We won some important battles -- like protecting millions of acres of public lands from Big Oil, slowing down Pebble Mine, and stopping the Atlantic Coast Pipeline.
But we also watched the EPA roll back regulations. We saw protections stripped for Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monuments. We lost the Waters of the U.S. Rule, protection from the brain-damaging pesticide chlorpyrifos, and decades of progress in the fight to prevent climate chaos.
President-elect Joe Biden will have his work cut out for him. He must not only reverse the worst attacks on our environment -- but make up for four years of lost time and rapidly expand environmental protections that center justice for the communities most impacted.

At Friends of the Earth, we have a comprehensive plan to undo the damage from the Trump years and push Biden to protect people and the planet:
- Biden is already vetting candidates to serve in top agency positions like EPA Administrator and Secretary of the Interior. After four years of corrupt, racist, and incompetent officials like Scott Pruitt and William Pendley, many of the agencies that regulate the environment are struggling. We’ll push Biden to appoint true progressive leaders who have the experience and the vision to reshape these agencies to serve people, not corporate polluters.
- Once Biden takes office, we’ll work in Washington DC and across the country to quickly advance progressive rules and legislation. Biden can start by banning bee-killing and brain-damaging pesticides like chlorpyrifos, vetoing Pebble Mine once and for all, stopping fossil fuel leasing on our public lands, and rebuilding the economy in a way that centers communities over the fossil fuel industry.
- The next two years will determine whether we prevent the worst impacts of the climate crisis and whether the communities most impacted are left behind. So we’ll work with both the Biden administration and leaders in Congress to pass strong climate legislation that puts frontline communities and workers first. Meanwhile, we’ll push to close loopholes and giveaways to the fossil fuel industry and Big Ag, and we'll make sure no new fossil fuel bailouts sneak into COVID relief packages.
This is not a time for half-measures or false solutions. But we need your help to hold our leaders accountable every step of the way.
