Call on President-elect Joe Biden to build back better for kids here at home and around the world!

The votes have been counted and Joe Biden is the presumptive President-elect of the United States. Senator Kamala Harris will join him as the first woman and first person of color elected vice president.

Advocates for children are found across the political spectrum. While we know many of you will be excited about this election result, others will be disappointed. However, we are united in our call to the new administration to ensure that every child has a strong start in life and can thrive.

President-elect Biden ran on a promise to “Build Back Better” in response to the pandemic. We agree that we should build back better, especially for our children. We’re calling on the Biden administration to improve the lives of children by:

• Rebuilding our child care system, which has been devastated by the pandemic
   
• Fighting childhood hunger in our country, which is growing
   
• Reuniting separated children and families and ending harmful practices at our southern border
   
• Protecting girls worldwide from gender-based violence and elevating their voices and role in building back their communities.
