On Tuesday night, Delaware counted the votes, and I am honored to have the opportunity to continue serving my state and our country in the U.S. Senate. Delawareans voted in record numbers and sent a strong message: it's time to find a new way to work together in Washington to solve the challenges we face.

This win was only possible because of friends and supporters like you.

I am also thrilled to say that my friend, Joe Biden, has cleared the threshold of the 270 electoral votes required to win the presidential election. He is officially our president-elect!

This is incredible news. It means the American people have chosen hope over fear and unity over division. They chose a leader who listens to experts and makes plans and who is committed to building back our country by working together.

We have a lot of work to do to bring our nation back together, and we all have a role to play.

Thank you for being there for me and for working with our President-elect Joe Biden and me in the weeks and months to come.
