Friend – The 2020 election has been called. It may have been slow – at times excruciating – but our democracy worked as it should have and every vote will be counted. For his anti-civil rights and civil liberties agenda, Donald Trump was democratically and ceremoniously removed from the Oval Office by his employer: the American people. See my full statement here. Over the past four years, we've witnessed some of the cruelest and most unconstitutional policies in our nation's history. But we've also seen millions of people come together to fight for justice, freedom, and equality. And we will continue to join the chorus calling for this nation's long overdue racial reckoning. Read more. ACLU Supporter, during a time marred by division and inequality, you were there with us to protect people's rights at every turn. Now, we hope we can count on your energy and determination again in this critical work that lies before us. After all, it's never been about a party, one person, or a particular president. It's about holding all our leaders and institutions – local and national – accountable and boldly leading freedom forward. The past four years showed us that together, we are powerful. Let's keep fighting until "we the people" means all of us. With hope and conviction, Anthony Romero |
