WE WON
You're the Best!
For years I've been dreaming of saying these two words to you, and the past few days have felt like an eternity as we waited for the results.

WE WON. In an incredible victory for the country, President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris have won the 2020 election. And let this sink in: Kamala Harris will be the first Black woman AND the first South Asian woman to serve as vice president.

To those of you who called and texted voters; to those who got your friends and family on board; to those who funded our fight; and especially, to the Black women and other women of color who carried us to this victory — THANK YOU.

We elected new leaders, with a new vision, and a chance to reimagine what it means to take full control of our bodies and our lives. But getting here wasn't easy.

For the past four years, the Trump administration and our opponents hit us with every attack imaginable — state abortion bans, attempts to both defund Planned Parenthood and repeal the Affordable Care Act, and worse. And in the final hours of the election, Trump tried to claim our rightfully earned victory as his own.

You never gave up. Thank you. Together, we rallied to defend health care. We held the line through endless attacks on our rights. We marched to demand that Black Lives Matter. We kept the faith while every vote was counted. We fought like hell for our reproductive freedom — and we won.

At the same time, we can't ignore the fact that our reproductive freedom is on thin ice; things were broken even before the Trump administration. COVID‑19 exposed deep, structural inequities in our health care system. Footage of police violence laid bare what so many knew: Systemic racism seeks to control our bodies in every way. We will continue to see abortion restrictions in unfriendly states, and we now face a Supreme Court that poses an even greater threat to health care access and reproductive rights.

Our work doesn't end with this victory. We must continue to hold the line — AND start creating the world we want.

Today our mission has never been more clear or within reach: Everyone deserves full control of their bodies and their lives.

In the days, weeks, and months ahead...

Take in the feeling of this moment.

I'm proud to be a part of this movement with you.
