Dear NRDC Activist,

The voters have spoken. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have been elected as
the next president and vice president of the United States, ousting Donald
Trump from the White House and putting an end to his dangerous assaults on
our health, our communities, our climate, and our democracy.

This is a tremendous, game-changing moment for our country — and climate
voters like you made the difference. Let's all take a moment to
congratulate each other on a job well done.

With Joe Biden, we will have a president who understands that the climate
crisis MUST be an urgent priority for humankind. His climate plan is the
most ambitious ever proposed by any president in U.S. history.

Not only that — but the country elected Kamala Harris, the first female
vice president of color in our nation's history! And she is just the
partner we need with us in this fight — sharing a deep understanding of
the climate crisis and its disproportionate impact on low-income
communities and communities of color.

Yet, even after Biden has won, Donald Trump's campaign is escalating
baseless legal challenges in several states, demanding recounts and trying
to delegitimize mail-in ballots.

So as we celebrate this win today, we must remain vigilant — and prepared
to stand strong against any attempts by the Trump administration to steal
this election.

And at the same time, we must get to work building that better future we
have all been waiting for. There's no time to waste.

Starting on day one, we'll work to get the White House back to putting
people before polluters. We will help the new administration turn the
promise of the groundbreaking Biden/Harris Climate Plan into reality,
restoring and expanding investments in clean energy, putting people back
to work, and rebuilding our economy ravaged by the COVID-19 pandemic.

We'll fight for the deep, systemic change our country needs to lessen the
impacts of the climate crisis that fall disproportionately on Black,
Indigenous, and communities of color.

NRDC is ready to fight for our climate, our environment, and our democracy
from now through Inauguration Day and beyond. Here's how:

* In the final weeks of the Trump administration, we're prepared to
respond swiftly to prevent Trump and his allies in Congress from
inflicting even more devastating harm before President-elect Biden
takes office. And we need you ready to join us in fighting back
against these last-minute, lame-duck assaults.
* Once President Biden is sworn in, we'll be laser-focused on moving
full speed ahead toward a clean energy future. The Biden presidency is
our best chance to course correct in our fight for climate action. In
the weeks ahead, we will soon unveil a comprehensive climate change
and clean energy strategy tailor-made for the new administration and
begin working on day one of the Biden administration to put it into
effect.
* NRDC's litigation team will continue using the courts to make sure our
environmental laws are enforced. NRDC's lawyers have filed more than
127 lawsuits against the Trump administration, and we've prevailed in
90% of the cases decided. We know how to use the courts to uphold the
law and we will do it when necessary — no matter who is president. And
when we do — we win.
* We'll double down on our bottom-up strategy to help local leaders —
governors, mayors, and community leaders — tackle the climate crisis
and protect our environment and health.
* We will continue mobilizing the grassroots power of NRDC's nearly 3
million supporters — like you! — to stay engaged and call on our
leaders to protect our health, our environment, and our clean energy
future.

We're counting on folks like you to continue standing alongside us in the
days and weeks ahead. Together, we can reverse Trump's damage and let Joe
Biden know we're behind him as he makes tackling climate change one of the
top priorities of his administration.

We'll be following up soon with more details on what's next — in the
meantime, follow NRDC on [ [link removed] ]Facebook, [ [link removed] ]Instagram, and [ [link removed] ]Twitter, and
text NRDC to 21333 to subscribe to our mobile alerts so we can reach you
when and where your help is needed most.
