Friends —

Today we celebrate the historic voter turnout in Texas and Wisconsin, and congratulate Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, who will be the 46th President-elect and Vice President-elect of the United States.

President-Elect Biden has already committed $900 million [[link removed]] to community based violence prevention efforts. Our capacity to push efforts that enter our communities is now even stronger.

We look forward to partnering with President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Harris, as we work to end gun violence by investing in Black and Latinx communities and our solutions.

This level of voter turnout around the country wasn’t just a spontaneous event - it is the result of generations of communities of color organizing, a legacy we are honored to be a part of. In the face of a global pandemic, intimidation and suppression, voters of color showed up, and we brought thousands with us.

Our communities can’t wait, and we will keep working to engage communities in Texas and Wisconsin beyond this Election.

Our investment in states and cities did not start this Election cycle, and we will continue to partner with community leaders to build capacity to create meaningful change by advancing community informed policy and solutions to gun violence.

We have the solutions and we’re determined to end gun violence together with all of you.

In solidarity,

Greg Jackson,

National Organizing Director
