On behalf of the people of Michigan, I want to congratulate President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, as well as Senator Gary Peters, Chief Justice Bridget Mary McCormack, and Justice-Elect Elizabeth Welch on their victories.

With record turnout, people knew what was on the line, and they turned out in droves to elect Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. With the election behind us, now is the time for our nation to come together. We have a common enemy, and it is COVID-19, not one another.

My administration will continue to work day and night to keep Michiganders safe. There’s a lot of work to do, but with a partner in the Federal Government, we can get it done.

I look forward to working with both President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris as we continue to fight the spread of COVID-19, work to rebuild our economy, and save lives.

Thank you for turning out to vote, and let’s continue the fight for a better future.
