Friend,

Rep. Pramila Jayapal on Twitter: “Whatever happens in Georgia, everyone should get on their knees and thank strong Black women like the fearless [Stacey Abrams] and so many who slog away without appreciation.”

We resoundingly agree: Because of Stacey Abrams’s leadership and initiative in registering tens of thousands of Georgia voters, 16 additional electoral votes are now in play. This is HUGE as we go into run-off elections that may very well determine who controls the Senate -- and could ultimately oust Mitch McConnell as Majority Leader.

But now, with the safe seat of Georgia now seemingly slipping away from the GOP, they’re only going to ramp up their dark money efforts to bring their supporters out of the woodwork. And we can’t forget that Brian Kemp remains governor, and he is dedicated to his dirty voter suppression tricks that he’ll surely use these next elections.

We are in a great position to fight back, and we NEED to fight back -- otherwise Stacey Abrams’s work may very well be in vain. As USA Today reports: Georgia’s “trending demographics [are] reason for optimism. The growth of Atlanta has attracted an increasingly educated workforce from other parts of the country, especially potential younger Asian, Black and Latino voters.”
