"Because I rescued the poor who cried for help, and the fatherless who had none to assist them. The one who was dying blessed me; I made the widow's heart sing. I put on righteousness as my clothing; justice was my robe and my turban. I was eyes to the blind and feet to the lame. I was a father to the needy; I took up the case of the stranger."

This week the Mavoko 3 trial for the murder of IJM's staff and client, Willie, Joseph and Josephat continued with cross-examination of a police witness. Pray for the family members of the deceased as they await justice in this case. It has been more than four years since their deaths, and we are praying for court dates that will allow the case to progress to completion.
Latin America
- Continue to pray for momentum and persistent media attention for IJM Dominican Republic's petition for the Dominican Supreme Court to declare child marriage unconstitutional. In July the IJM DR team and 15 other organizations began to

raise awareness around the issue of child marriage. The Dominican Republic has one of the highest rates of child marriage in the Latin America and Caribbean region.
South Asia
- Praise God for a new program to help survivors of bonded labor earn a dignified income. One of our partner NGOs identified a group of women and men who were struggling to rebuild life in freedom after being rescued. This NGO bought new bicycles for the 13 survivors and helped them set up small businesses delivering milk and cloth in their community — where they can earn steady income and stay socially distanced. One man shared: "After the lockdown...there was no work available for us and it was very difficult to survive. Today, we have received an opportunity to earn our living. With this activity, now I can say that I can survive and take care of my family." Praise God for this new source of income and hope in their lives — and pray we could find other creative ways to
support survivors long-term!
Southeast Asia
- Praise God for the police rescue of three minors from online sexual exploitation of children in the Philippines, and the arrest of one suspect. According to the Philippine National Police — Women and Children Protection Center, the suspect was a 41-year old woman offering to livestream the live sexual abuse of her three daughters in exchange for money. Pray for the three teenage girls who are now receiving trauma-informed care from the city social welfare department.

Starting this week, we are privileged to share the incredible story of Kashi*. In her interviews with us she shared, "The best thing about [speaking out] was someone responding after listening to my story. I felt heard. They did not ignore me and listened to me." Pray that people would take time during their day to listen to her story and that her resilience and courage would inspire all who hear her to join her in the fight to change society and protect others.
