Fellow Conservative,
Every LEGAL vote counts—that’s the standard we are fighting for.
We prepared in August, September, and October by recruiting hundreds of poll workers. On Wednesday, we received an influx of additional activists volunteering to go monitor the counting. Thank you!
While we work for a transparent count and a fair outcome to the Presidential election, we must also prepare for the Senate runoff elections in Georgia on Jan. 5, 2021. Two seats are up for grabs, and the outcome will determine control of the Senate.
We are going to organize in Georgia just as we did in Iowa, Wisconsin, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. The day after the election, three of those states were still in play—proving we were right where we needed to be.
In Georgia, we’ll knock doors, educate voters, and get out the vote. We will stop the Left’s efforts to pack the Supreme Court and to defund the police. Georgia is where we make our stand—that’s why we’re committing at least $1,000,000 to get the job done.
Have faith. Do not give into despair. While the Presidential race may still take several weeks, there is already much to celebrate in the down-ballot results:
Sentinels Win Public Office
Another notable race is Sentinel Nick Freitas running for U.S. House of Representatives in VA-07. As of Friday evening ballots were still being counted and the official winner undetermined. We want to offer a thank you to the many Sentinels who have worked tirelessly on his campaign.
The Heritage Action Sentinel Program <[link removed]> was created to be the tip of the spear for conservative victories in Washington by achieving grassroots wins in local communities across the nation.
As community leaders, the next step for some Sentinels is to run for office—and many of them have won and will now represent their fellow constituents.
Take a look at a couple of the Sentinels assuming office:
Yvette Herrell, 2nd Congressional District, New Mexico
Terry Lynch, Parker City Council, Texas
Dottie Bailey, State House District 110, Missouri
MaryEllen Crowder, Fire Commissioner, Florida
Heritage Action Executive Director Jessica Anderson commented on their victories <[link removed]>:
"Heritage Action Sentinels are grassroots activists who lead in their communities, organize other volunteers, and achieve legislative victories. Sentinels are passionate patriots that want government to work for the people—it’s only natural that many make the decision to enter public service and represent their communities in making America great… We have been privileged to work with them as grassroots activists, and we look forward to continuing our work with them as elected officials."
We congratulate these Sentinels on their impressive victories!
Police Pledge Signers
In late August, we launched the Police Pledge <[link removed]>—a nationwide commitment for citizens, lawmakers, and candidates who stand with our nation’s law enforcement officers and oppose any bill, resolution, or movement to “defund the police.”
More than 534 elected officials and candidates for office—on the local, state, and federal levels—signed the pledge and promised their constituents a return to safety and security in their communities.
At least 15 Police Pledge signers will be entering the 117th Congress as new Members. They will likely be joined by more pledge signers who are still awaiting the outcome of their elections.
And numerous police pledge signers won state and local elections. We congratulate them all!
Defending America’s law enforcement officers clearly resonated with American voters. Many exit polls <[link removed]> found it the #2 issue (after the economy) for voters on the Right.
Heritage Action Executive Jessica Anderson congratulated these officials on their victories <[link removed]>:
“The American people want safety and security in communities across the nation. Over 100 members of Congress who signed our Police Pledge were successfully reelected last night, and dozens of candidates who stand for law and order won office for the first time.
The extreme Left’s acceptance of looting, violence and destruction has no place in American society and elected officials on both sides of the aisle should take note of Americans’ support for pro-police candidates and policies and abandon their anti-safety mission.”
Voters Reject Socialism & “Defund the Police”
Americans do not support the Left’s extreme policies.
In an article in The Hill <[link removed]>, two anonymous Houses Democrats were quoted as saying:
“It’s time for Democrats to elevate a new generation of leadership in both the House and the Senate… Americans are clearly afraid of ‘socialism,’ want safe streets and neighborhoods and to vote for people who they believe will help put more money in their pockets.”
We couldn’t have said it better ourselves. Americans support the police, want an open and free economy, and clearly oppose socialism. The Left’s policies are out of line with the will of the American people.
As always, Heritage Action is actively working on behalf of the American people advocating for conservative policies that benefit the entire country—and we will never stop!
Voters Reject Identity Politics
The Heritage Foundation’s Mike Gonzalez reports in the Wall Street Journal <[link removed]> that, “The concept that the country should be divided into aggrieved categories based on race, national origin or sex—now a core tenet of the Democratic Party—lost from coast to coast.”
For instance, in Miami-Dade County in Florida, Cuban-Americans delivered votes for President Trump with some pre-election polls having the president leading among Cuban-American voters by a margin as wide as 38 points.
In Zapata County in South Texas, President Trump won the Mexican-American vote by 52.5%.
And even in a deep blue state like California, voters defeated an attempt to revoke Proposition 209, the 1996 ballot measure that bans the use of race, national origin or sex by state universities and other agencies.
Voters elected over a dozen new GOP women to serve in Congress. Just as with Justice Amy Coney Barrett, voters support these strong women who represent their values of faith, family, integrity, and hard work.
Voters rejected the Left’s identity politics. There was no “Blue Wave.”
The truth is people of all walks of life cleave to the conservative message. At Heritage Action, we believe it is our mission to take that message to them.
