Victory for creative professionals at AZ Supreme Court!

Dear John,

Just like the beautiful custom artwork they create, Joanna and Breanna are one of a kind.

They are two of the most passionate, loving, and faithful people you will ever meet. With a quiet strength and grace, they have endured unbelievable hate, threats, and vitriol these past few years.

And it’s all because of one thing: They took a stand for the right to live consistently with their religious beliefs.

Thankfully, today their stand was rewarded. Joanna and Breanna have received some wonderful news. The Arizona Supreme Court has ruled in their favor! Praise God!

The court ruled that a city of Phoenix ordinance violates Joanna and Breanna’s freedom of speech and religion when applied to their custom wedding invitations. Phoenix can no longer force Joanna and Breanna to create art that conveys messages contrary to their consciences.

This is a huge victory. No one should be forced to choose between their faith and their livelihood. And now, the Arizona Supreme Court has affirmed that.

When people of faith come together, we can WIN! Your gift today helps build on this momentum to defend others—like Joanna and Breanna—who are willing to stand for their beliefs.

The battle is heating up in other states across the country

For the past three years, Joanna and Breanna have faced government threats and court battles. But it didn’t stop there. They’ve also been the subject of vicious personal attacks online and in the media. John, can you imagine having your name dragged through the mud all because you want to live according to your faith?

Thankfully, the Arizona Supreme Court ruled in favor of Joanna and Breanna, but many people of faith in others states still face similar punishment.

In Michigan, Steve and Bridget Tennes, owners of Country Mill Farms, were barred from participating in a local farmer’s market because of their beliefs about biblical marriage. The Tennes family has asked a federal court to protect their freedom to live and speak according to their deeply held religious beliefs without fear of government punishment.

In Kentucky, T-shirt printer Blaine Adamson was targeted by his local government after he respectfully declined to print shirts with a message that conflicted with his faith. Now, he is waiting for the Kentucky Supreme Court to decide his case and protect his freedom.

In Washington state, floral artist Barronelle Stutzman was sued by her state government and the ACLU for politely declining to create floral arrangements for a longtime customer’s same-sex wedding. Barronelle has once again asked the U.S. Supreme Court to hear her case after the Washington Supreme Court refused to uphold her freedom.

Thanks to God’s provision and your support, Joanna and Breanna were given the victory they so justly deserved. But now is not the time to slow down. We need to build momentum.

Today, you have the chance to do just that. A group of generous Ministry Friends has given a $2 million challenge grant in hopes of inspiring you to help defend freedom for people like Joanna and Breanna. Will you join them?

Without continued investment in defense of religious freedom, we could see freedom further eroded right now—and in the future for our children and grandchildren. We can’t let that happen.

Please rise to the challenge and give your best gift to defend religious freedom today.

Thank you for giving generously.
