NRDC Activist,

In its latest assault on America's treasured national monuments, the Trump
administration has released reckless new management plans for
Grand-Staircase Escalante National Monument in Utah that put the iconic
monument’s breathtaking canyons, arches, pinyon-juniper forests, and mesas
at grave risk and waste taxpayer dollars.

The Trump administration needs to hear from you — the owner of these
public lands.

[ [link removed] ]Tell
President Trump and the Interior Department that you oppose these reckless
and costly management plans for Grand Staircase-Escalante National
Monument. TAKE ACTION >>

It's coming up on two years now since the Trump administration issued an
illegal proclamation gutting Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument,
reducing it to nearly half its original size. They also went after Bears
Ears — one of our newest and most unique national monuments. And every day
since, the Interior Department has stayed laser focused on exploiting
these treasured public lands for oil and gas drilling, coal mining, and
more. These dangerous new management plans for Grand Staircase-Escalante
are the next step toward their goal.

The existing plans for Grand Staircase are the product of countless hours
of thoughtful input from government experts, local communities and
businesses, and other key stakeholders who care deeply about these lands.
It's senseless, destructive, and wasteful for the Interior Department to
throw them out and replace them with new and grossly inadequate plans that
put our treasured public lands at risk.

And right now, NRDC and our partners are facing off against the Trump
administration in court in defense of Grand Staircase-Escalante and Bears
Ears National Monuments.

Why? President Trump does not have the legal authority to undo the
monument designations of previous presidents. Congress, and only Congress,
can revoke or reduce a national monument. That's why NRDC is fighting
tirelessly in federal court to block their efforts to redraw Grand
Staircase and Bears Ears. And we believe we can win.

[ [link removed] ]Tell the Interior Department to reverse course and scrap its dangerous
new management plans for the iconic Grand Staircase-Escalante National
Monument. TAKE ACTION >>

It's
simple: An attack on one national monument is an attack on all our public
lands. We must fight back each and every time the Trump administration
encroaches on the American people's land — for our families today and for
future generations. [ [link removed] ]Make your voice heard.

Thank you for being part of NRDC's fight.

Sincerely,
