Jim Oberweis, Lauren Underwood outcome in limbo; Oberwies starts recount fundraising

On Wednesday, Underwood’s far-right Republican opponent Jim Oberweis prematurely declared victory based on incomplete returns. He leads by just a few hundred votes as counting of mail-in ballots continues. And now he has begun fundraising for a likely recount.

Lauren is confident that she’ll win if every vote is counted, and needs the funds to make sure that happens.

In 2018, Underwood made history as the youngest Black woman to ever be elected to Congress. We can’t afford to lose her voice.
