In its Friday update, the Arkansas Department of Health reported 1,870 new cases; 11,414 active cases; 706 hospitalized, which is up 39 from Thursday; 107 on ventilators, which is up 4 from Thursday; deaths added today, 19, for a total of 2,056; a total of 119,230 cases; 97,997 recoveries; PCR tests, 12,356; antigen tests, 2,285.

The Health Department reported that the top counties for new cases are Benton, 140; Craighead, 137; Washington, 137; Pulaski, 134; and Sebastian, 91.

Governor Hutchinson released the following statement on today’s COVID-19 numbers:

"Today's numbers show we are not in a good position as we head into the colder months. I ask all Arkansans to take this virus seriously and to take necessary precautions. Our number of new cases is growing at a rate that worries me in terms of our hospital capacity."
