Tomorrow
at 10AM is our monthly General Membership Meeting—we will be holding
an election for two Steering Committee seats: At-Large
and the Treasurer Officer position. To receive a ballot, you MUST
register for the meeting and be a member in good standing*. Ballots
will be sent out after the meeting and will be open for
24-hours.
Each candidate will
have a few minutes to speak at tomorrow's meeting but you can view
candidate statements here.
The
second half of the meeting will be dedicated to be discussing what's
next for the socialist movement with a Biden
win. How will we respond to a contested election? How can we
pressure a Biden administration in order to win demands like M4A or
defunding the police?
Come exchange your
take on the results and the fact that nearly half of our fellow
Americans voted for Trump. It will be a no-holds-barred preview and
rehearsal for our Town
Hall on Sunday.

*If you believe your dues are expired, you can renew them here and
then forward your renewed dues receipt to
[email protected] so you can receive your ballot.

Socialist Night School: Detroit's Ongoing Struggle for Public
Schools Tuesday, November 10th at 6:30PM
Over 20 years of state control, emergency management, the
onslaught of DeVos-fueled charters, and racist public policy have
defined Detroit's public school district as a battleground between the
ruling class and the city's families. Join Detroit DSA to learn how
Michigan has waged war on Detroit's children and teachers for over a
generation and how students, parents and teachers fought back and
continue to struggle in classrooms, union halls and city streets to
demand education justice.
Ready to join the
movement?
Detroit DSA is a volunteer socialist organization with
organizers, activists, teachers, workers, families, and newcomers from
all over the Metro area. We believe that the economy should be run
democratically, by working people to meet human needs, not to make
profits for a few.
Are you an artist, writer,
or communications wizard? The Media & Comms Team needs
you! Respond to this email if you're interested in helping Detroit DSA
expand our reach as we work to build the socialist future here in
Detroit.
In solidarity,
