Hi John,
UPDATE: Run for Something now has 205 winners in 2020. With 4 candidates moving to run-offs and 68 races still counting votes, we expect that number to keep growing!
Meet all of them and learn how they're literally changing the face of politics.
Here's our progress by the numbers:
With the latest victories, our winning candidates for 2020 are 56% women, 63% BIPOC, and 22% LGBTQ.
We’ve elected (or re-elected) 11 people to legal positions, 17 people to education roles, 38 to municipal or county office, and 139 to state legislature seats.
AND 12 of our winners are 25 years old or younger, 60 of our winners are 30 or younger.
This is what strong political infrastructure looks like, John. We are building sustainable, permanent power, and I could not be more excited for the futures of our bright, hardworking candidates or the future of this movement.
But I want to gut-check our wins by being honest with you real quick --
we haven't accomplished what we set out to do just yet. This election has shown us how essential it is to have progressives in state and local offices, building a new, robust foundation for the next generation of Democrats to come.
To make that a reality, we still need your help.
Can you make a monthly recurring contribution of $5 -- or whatever you can -- to help Run for Something continue recruiting, training, supporting, and electing diverse, young progressives to state and local office through 2021 and beyond?
Thank you,
Amanda Litman,

Hi John,
We've got
more great news for you:
Since our last email, 71 new candidates had their races called. Run for Something has now helped elect 177 diverse, young progressives to state and local office.
Click here to read more about them; they WILL give you hope for the future and relieve your anxieties in the face of uncertainty.
I am so damn proud of them, and I'm glad to see that all their hard work paid off.
There are still over a hundred races being tracked by our team, but as of now, we're on track for
more than half our 2020 winners to be women and more than two-thirds to identify as Black, Indigenous, or people of color. The sugar on top: We've elected hardworking progressives in 39 different states.
We're expecting more wins to come tonight and tomorrow -- I hope you can take security in the fact that you helped win sustainable, permanent power, nationwide.
Keep an eye open for more wins,
Amanda Litman

Hi there,
I know a lot of you might feel anxious, scared, or hurt. While it seems Joe Biden is going to win (!!), a lot of people voted to re-elect Donald Trump, and it
really sucks to know where so many of our neighbors stand on the issues facing the nation.
But I've got a silver lining for anyone who needs one: As of earlier this morning, you all helped elect 106 Run for Something candidates to down-ballot races nationwide. That's 106 diverse, young progressives now building permanent, sustainable power for our communities.
If you want to get to know them and about the change they plan to enact, check out our full list of winners (so far) here!
As of now, this year's winners are nearly two-thirds women and two-thirds BIPOC, and at least 20% LGBTQ.
All in all, Run for Something has elected more than 400 people in our first four years, and we expect that number to grow exponentially, especially over the next few days and weeks.
This is all to say that you should
never lose hope for the future.
Our candidates -- especially the county, school board, and municipal folks -- bucked trends nationwide. They made history. They show us all what new leadership can look like.
We're building the bench for federal seats and our candidates are rebuilding a relationship between communities and their government. All of that was possible because you and thousands of other grassroots progressives give a damn about down-ballot races.
Thank you for helping change America for the better. I'll let you know as soon as we have new updates.
