# [#]As local election officials continue to count every legal ballot, President Trump is filing lawsuits to stop the vote count and challenging the results in several key states.

Our Postal Service lawsuit played an important role in ensuring a free and fair election. Mail-in votes proved critical to Joe Biden’s margins in several states. We stopped Postmaster General DeJoy from interfering in the election by corrupting the Postal Service.

Thanks to our work, Americans gained additional transparency into the Postal Service’s performance across the country. In other words, we could see in real time where the mail was being delivered on time — and where it was falling short.

When on-time delivery started falling in Wisconsin and the Detroit region, we quickly hauled the Postmaster General to back into court. A federal judge in Yakima ordered DeJoy to sweep post offices in Wisconsin and Michigan to ensure all election mail got delivered.

The federal government subsequently confirmed that it conducted these sweeps, as required by the court, and the facilities were clear of all ballots.

Biden will win Wisconsin by about 20,000 votes.

We are proud that our work to uphold the rule of law and defend democracy played an important role in this outcome.
