Friend,

Despite a global pandemic and despicable voter suppression, young people took our activism from the streets to the ballot box this year. And we secured major wins for equity, justice, and representation. The rising of #YoungPeoplePower is undeniable.

Read all about it!

URGE’s 2020 Election Report: The 2020 Election & Young People: Mobilizing Communities, Building Power for Policy Change <[link removed]> is live. More reports will be released in the coming weeks and will dive into URGE’s voter engagement program and what’s next in 2021 and beyond.

We have so much to celebrate:

- Alabama vote widely voted to begin purging racist language from its state constitution;

- California restored voting rights for formerly incarcerated people;

- Columbus, Ohio residents strongly approved the creation of a Civilian Review Board to carry out independent investigations of police misconduct;

- Mauree Turner, 27, was elected to Oklahoma’s state House, becoming the first out non-binary state lawmaker in the U.S.;

- Four Native women seeking election or reelection in Kansas all won their races; and

- Ayanna Pressley, 46, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, 31, Ilhan Omar, 38, and Rashida Tlaib, 44, the young, progressive women of color popularly known as “The Squad,” were all overwhelmingly re-elected to the U.S. Congress.

Hungry for more? Join us on November 10th at 1:30 pm ET for Nothing Without Us: The Young People’s Election & Reproductive Justice <[link removed]>, a town hall for URGE community members to celebrate, reflect, and plan for what’s next. Register here! <[link removed]>
