Radical Diversity | Wednesday, November 18, 12:00pm EST

Radical Diversity: Montreal

“Radical Diversity” is a discussion series presented by several Goethe-Institut locations in North America. These conversations engage with issues of right-wing extremism, everyday racism and racialized microaggressions, and pressure to “assimilate” – all constructs affecting racialized minorities, which result from an inability and unwillingness to respect and appreciate the radical diversity that underscores our societies.

In the Montreal edition of “Radical Diversity,” Mohamed Amjahid will speak with art historian Charmaine Nelson about white knowledge production, looking back from a Black-Canadian perspective, and a new era for anthropology and social sciences.

The discussion will be held in English, and will be simultaneously translated into French and Spanish.

Please email [email protected] if you have questions about this event.

In this blog, Julia Pataky of the Goethe Pop Up Kansas City talks about how beer diplomacy supports the promotion of mutual understanding between Germans and Americans. Julia, the Cultural Programming Coordinator in Kansas City, shares insights from her interview with the KC Bier Company, a pioneering German-style beer company in Kansas City, Missouri.
