Advancement Project National Office has been on the front lines fighting for voting rights because access to the ballot gives communities of color power and self-determination in the matters that impact their lives. While we don’t know all of the results of the November election yet, we do know that your decision to vote and stay in line made all the difference. We couldn’t be prouder.
Voter suppression and intimidation tactics against Black and Brown communities came from all directions, including law enforcement. However, despite these tactics to keep Black and Brown communities from voting, Black voters fought back and voted in record numbers.
You didn’t give up. You made it clear that this election cycle you were staying in line to vote by any means necessary. You stood in line to address the systemic inequality and racism in this country, reform the healthcare system, vote on behalf of those who could not, and you stayed in line for your children.
Don’t give up. Remember why you voted. Remember why you stayed in line. Advancement Project National Office will continue to work with our partners across the United States advocating and fighting to protect voters’ rights and making sure that every vote is counted.
