Starting at noon today, Virginia will get a second round of election results this one consisting of mail ballots that were postmarked by Election Day and delivered by noon today.

Tune into vpap.org to see if these relatively small numbers of ballots can change the outcomes of the very closest of close races.

This "Second Election Day" is new in Virginia. It is happening because the General Assembly passed legislation that extends the deadline for mail ballots until noon on the Friday after the election.

VPAP will itemize any changes in election results for these races: President, U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives. You will be able to see how many votes each candidate had after Election night, how many were added today, and the new total.

We'll also update the results of local elections, though the changes will not be itemized.

The results should begin to come in at noon. It's possible it may take a day or longer for some larger localities to finish counting mail ballots.
