John, Here's Labor's 321 Update – it's what you need to know about happenings in politics right now and how you can help make a difference by sharing these stories, where you can. What a week for Queensland with a great win for Annastacia and team. A big thank you to all who volunteered and supported during the QLD campaign. Also this week, the US election and the rich discussions we’ve all had about what a free and fair election means today in that country.
Our socials covered the election in the US and Labor’s victory in Queensland. What a week. Also this week, further discussion regarding what our social housing policy means – not only for our most vulnerable – but for our tradies. Twenty-five per cent of Australia’s social housing needs urgent repair and maintenance. That’s 100,000 homes. Two stories this week that surprised us were George Christensen and Joe Hockey fuelling US election fraud conspiracies. As a former Ambassador to the US it’s a surprise play, Joe. Not too much surprises us about George. We are always interested in looking into disinformation and how media attempts to keep track, fact check and set the record straight. The NYTimes has invested wisely in this pursuit. Here’s their valiant efforts. Is seeing believing? Those who propagate disinformation and those who unwittingly share that misinformation, contribute to a vast world of image manipulation. We’ve seen as extreme uptick in the US election. A great read in The Conversation helps us navigate what is possible – even if we won’t be able to spot the fakes. Until next time, Australian Labor P.S. John, we can’t risk a snap back to the Liberal agenda of cutting services, suppressing
wages and undermining job security. Australia needs a plan for the recovery where no one is held back or left
behind. We need your help to protect our society from the Liberals.
Will you chip in $5 to help stop the Liberals?
