**A CLOSER LOOK**- SNAP
The US Department of Agriculture has proposed a rule that would restrict
states' flexibility to broaden eligibility for the Supplemental
Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). With comments to the proposed rule
due September 23, 2019, a number of health-related organizations are
noting the health benefits of SNAP. In March 2019 Health Affairs
published a Health Policy Brief
on
the impact of key federal food support programs on young children's
food security and health.
