Thank you, John, for allowing me the opportunity to serve as your next Lt. Governor. I am grateful for the opportunity to return to the state Capitol to address issues such as the COVID pandemic and building a Washington economy that works for everyone.

This was a tough campaign, constantly changing shape due to the president's mismanagement of the pandemic, the long-overdue action for racial justice, the economic collapse, and the absence of the personal contact that I've always loved about politics.

But this movement didn't falter, John. Not for a second. And that bodes well for our work in Olympia.

We've got a lot of work ahead of us - starting with summoning the patience to endure the wait for the results of the presidential election - and, like you, I'm so excited to get rolling.
