This Wednesday, 11 November, marks 45 years since The Dismissal of Gough Whitlam’s Labor Government by the Queen’s representative, the Governor General. Turbulent times in Australia.
We are pleased to invite you to an online Town Hall on the day, our True Believers’ Party Sundowner with Anthony Albanese and renowned Australian journalist Kerry O’Brien. Kerry was Gough Whitlam’s press secretary soon after The Dismissal and bore witness to those heady days. If that’s not a big enough line-up, Labor Leader in the Senate Penny Wong will MC the event, and Tim Freedman from The Whitlams will perform for us too.
