Election officials and poll workers across the country must be able to do their jobs safely and without fear of armed intimidation or violence against them. Their safety is essential to counting every vote. We fought against armed intimidation at the polls on Election Day, and we will not stop fighting for the safety of all of our citizens from gun violence. Our lives and our democracy are on the line.

While dedicated volunteers and officials are tirelessly counting ballots to ensure a fair election, Donald Trump continues to incite violence among his supporters. Violent demonstrations are breaking out because of the President’s fear-mongering: hundreds of Arizonians gathered around a vote counting site in Maricopa County last night, some of them were armed with AR-15’s. John, we cannot and will not live like this.
