Friend,
Doctors Without Borders’ fierce commitment to independence and neutrality—along with your generosity—means we can go where many other organizations can’t or won’t and will continue to go where the needs are greatest.
This year has wreaked havoc in the world’s most vulnerable communities and on fragile health systems around the globe.
After nearly nine months, we remain prepared to fight the spread of COVID-19 in more than 70 countries, thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters. Over the course of the pandemic, our teams have worked to enact infection-control training in our projects, supported overwhelmed nursing home facilities, and offered medical and mental health services to asylum seekers and refugees. We’ll keep working to provide care where it’s needed no matter what.
There are people in need of medical care right now—and together, we can do more to relieve their suffering.
As we remain vigilant against the spread of COVID-19, we must continue to respond to other life-threatening emergencies, and keep essential health services running for communities at risk. With your partnership, I know that we can.
Throughout this tumultuous year, I’ve been reminded often of why I do this work. We see patients every day who are victims of targeted attacks or who are denied access to health care simply because of who they are. We provide mental health care for victims of trauma, abuse, and persistent discrimination. We go where others can’t, or won’t, to ensure access to medical care where it’s needed most.
I’m so grateful for your support, Friend, as we prepare for the challenges ahead. Thanks to the generosity of people like you, Doctors Without Borders will be there to provide lifesaving care in more than 70 countries, no matter what.
