As the final votes are counted, we strategize for the work ahead
Supporter -- As I write this, votes continue to be counted, and we get closer to winning the presidency. We turned out in record numbers and chose a future where we all can thrive, and we’re just getting started.
Since before the polls even closed, we’ve seen an increasingly unhinged president do and say everything he can to discredit the people's choice. He is a desperate, losing candidate and we see right through him. Votes are being counted, our voices are being heard, and no matter what happens, we will continue to organize and mobilize to restore our right to clean air, clean water, and a sustainable, healthy climate.
This has been a long road, Supporter, I know. But we're dedicated to counting every last vote, winning this election, and continuing to fight together for our communities and our planet.
Thanks,

Dear Supporter,
The word I keep coming back to is determination. Since January 20, 2017, we've organized against incredible odds and historic headwinds opposing progress. We have never backed down from intimidation and the growing threat of fascism in our country, and we won't stop now.
Despite unprecedented voter turnout across the country, the presidential election is still too close to call. And that's OK. This election, voters turned out in record numbers to have our voices heard, and we're so inspired by that.
We knew that the massive surge in absentee and mail-in voting due to the COVID-19 crisis would cause a delay in the vote count. We also knew that Donald Trump would use that delay to sow fear and distrust in the results. That's why we must find every bit of strength and courage in this moment to say loudly: Count every vote.
Here's how you can join us to hear about what's next:
It is important right now not to lose hope. Remember that when we fight together and for each other, we have the power. We have to continue to hold the line and stay focused.
This year we did some incredible things together. We organized a massive voter engagement program and reached out to millions of voters. Sierra Club members and supporters made over 5 million phone calls to voters in swing states. We wrote 1.28 million personalized letters, and we sent 20 million text messages. We need to use that same power to restore the promise of our democracy by protecting the results of this election.
Massive efforts by Republicans made it harder and more dangerous for people to vote -- and you still voted, got out there, and made sure your friends and families did too. Our civil rights, our health, our jobs and our environment depend on our democracy's health and the fairness of this election.
You've been part of something big to change the direction of our country. We should all be proud of what we have done. And as long as we are fighting together, as long as we do every bit of good we can for our communities, our country, and our planet, we make a difference. It matters.
Keep calm. Fight on. Count the votes.
Onward,
