Over the weekend, the New York Times released a bombshell report with new
details regarding multiple allegations of sexual assault by Supreme Court
Justice Brett Kavanaugh. And John, it’s downright infuriating.

I'm sure you remember when the GOP was rushing Kavanaugh through the
confirmation process to the highest court in the land this time last year,
multiple women including Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and Deborah Ramirez
courageously came forward to tell their stories of Kavanaugh assaulting
them in high school and college.

While Dr. Blasey Ford bravely took the stand and testified before the
Senate, Ms. Ramirez’s accusation was not taken as seriously, as a Senate
investigation did not feel her story could be corroborated. Turns out, at
least seven people heard about the incident well before Kavanaugh was even
a federal judge, and Ms. Ramirez gave investigators the names of 25 people
who she felt could corroborate her story. Investigators never called them,
even after those people tried reaching the FBI or anyone in the federal
government who would listen.

It gets worse.

The Times goes on to report that there was another incident of similar
sexual assault during Kavanaugh’s time at Yale that went unreported,
witnessed by a Yale classmate. The witness claims he “notified senators
and the F.B.I. about what he had witnessed but that the bureau did not
investigate.”

It’s not surprising that it's clear this was a sham of an investigation,
John, in a Republican attempt to rush an extremely
conservative, dangerous man to the highest court in the nation for the
sake of their far-right agenda.

And the person who cast the deciding vote was Senator Susan Collins.

Well, we can defeat Susan Collins in 2020, because there’s a progressive
woman running against her. Her name is Betsy Sweet, and we at DFA are
working to ensure she wins.

It’s time we hold Collins and the GOP accountable for disregarding the
dignity and safety of women and survivors by confirming Kavanaugh to the
Supreme Court. Help us by pitching in a contribution of

Brett Kavanaugh should not be sitting on the Supreme Court. It’s time we
kick out the person in office who put him there.

In solidarity,
