The result of the US presidential election is yet to be confirmed as we
send this email, but NO MATTER WHO WINS, WE KNOW THEY’LL WANT TO GET
THEIR HANDS ON OUR NHS IN A US TRADE DEAL. We want to make it absolutely
clear that whoever wins, we will not let our NHS be reduced to an insurance
system.

CENTRE A TRADE DEAL FREE ZONE this coming Wednesday, 11th November?

Trump has already said that he wants the NHS on the table in the UK-US
trade deal. Joe Biden, his opponent, does not support the call by the
majority of Americans for a UK-style healthcare system in the US and his
party takes tens of millions of Pounds in campaign donations from the US
healthcare and pharmaceutical industry.

So, no matter who ends up winning, they will want to get their hands on our
NHS and will have pressure from their funders to do so.

In July, Conservative MPs voted in the Commons against protecting our NHS
from trade deals. WE NEED TO MAKE SURE THEY FEEL THE HEAT IN THEIR
CONSTITUENCIES so that when the Trade Bill returns to the Commons, they
know they have to vote the right way.

THAT IS WHY THIS DAY OF ACTION IS TARGETED PRIMARILY AT THE 100 MOST
MARGINAL CONSERVATIVE CONSTITUENCIES. But we also need you to take action
at your local hospital or health centre if you live in a non-Conservative
constituency.

I'll take action locally to defend my NHS [1]

WE’D LOVE TO GET A PICTURE FROM YOU THAT SENDS A CLEAR MESSAGE. HERE’S
WHAT WE NEED YOU TO DO:

- Find/buy some blue ribbon (blue because it is the colour of our NHS). If
possible, make a sign that says “Our NHS is a Trade Deal Free Zone” or
another similar message.

- Go to your local NHS hospital on Wednesday, 11th November.

- Tie your ribbon unto a suitable platform (a lamp post, the gate, etc) at
your local NHS hospital. Stand next to your ribbon and take a picture

THE ELECTION OF THE US PRESIDENT IS A PERFECT TIME FOR CONSERVATIVE MPS TO
HEAR FROM YOU SO THAT THEY KNOW THAT YOU KNOW OUR NHS IS STILL UNDER GRAVE
THREAT.

Once the new US president is confirmed, attention will soon turn to how
they will approach the UK-US trade deal. When that happens, we want to make
sure those MPs know they need to change their vote to be on the right side
when the Trade Bill returns to the Commons.
