From Equal Pay Day to our AGM, we've got a lot coming up

This week we announced that Equal Pay Day is going to be held on 20th November ([link removed][UNIQID]) . While this later date shows a fall in the gender pay gap which is positive, we caution that we only have a partial picture. ([link removed][UNIQID]) Equal Pay Day is an important day for highlighting pay discrimination - and while this year our campaign will be held online, we hope it will reach more people than ever. Be ready to make yourself seen.

As the whole country enters a new lockdown - and many people and areas continue to shield - we've been speaking to our coronavirus diarists about their recent experiences. Read about how they have found the summer months here ([link removed][UNIQID]) .

Make Women Visible Event

Have you got your tickets for the Make Women Visible event yet? This year our AGM is being held online on Thursday 26 November ([link removed][UNIQID]) - only members are able to attend our AGM but we will be hosting an event afterwards which is open to all. The theme this year is Make Women Visible as we continue to confront the inequalities that the coronavirus pandemic is creating and ask what this means for the future. The event will be held online from 18:00 - 19:30 and we will explore how we can make a gender equal future for women and girls.

We are delighted to announce our latest speakers. Joeli Brearley, founder of Pregnant then Screwed, and dynamic duo Kym Oliver and Jumoke Abdullahi founders of Tripple Cripples will all be sharing their experiences on the panel discussion.

We will also hear from Polly Neate, CEO of Shelter and Trustee of the Young Women's Trust, and Wendy Irwin, Head of Equality and Diversity at the Royal College of Nurses and our very own Ayesha Hazarika.

We're hiring

We're hiring for two exciting new vacancies to join our busy team ([link removed][UNIQID]) . If you are passionate about equality and want to join the fight for women's rights, check out the jobs below.

We are looking for a Policy and Research Manager who has an analytical approach and can present complex information clearly. You'll have line-management responsibility and will represent Fawcett externally on a number of policy areas. Apply by Monday 16 November.

We are also looking for a Senior Policy and Public Affairs Officer. If you can show political sensitivity and awareness, engage a large number of stakeholders and present arguments and clearly communicate information then apply by Monday 23 November.

Our members have been given a fantastic opportunity to join an exclusive event to help you find your comedy voice. Featuring founder of Funny Women Lynne Parker, in discussion with comedian Shazia Mirza and influencer Sophie McCartney. This event is designed to help you leverage your knowledge and skills - and to provide you with an evening of laughs. Nominate a toy to tackle gender stereotypes

What toys would you recommend for Christmas, or for other festivals or birthdays, that help tackle gender stereotypes? ([link removed][UNIQID]) We're working with Let Toys Be Toys to create a Christmas list designed to support parents in challenging gender stereotypes that so often infiltrate the early stages of growth.

And we need your help. Can you recommend a toy or book that you think will help tackle gender stereotypes for children? We'll be including five products on our list so nominate your favourite products that challenge the stereotypes so often seen in children's toys. ([link removed][UNIQID])
