Donald Trump is frantically soliciting his adherents for contributions to what he’s calling an “OFFICIAL ELECTION DEFENSE FUND!”
And he’s ranting (via Twitter, of course) about the election results.
Meanwhile, not one word from Trump about the fact that the daily number of new coronavirus cases in the United States exceeded 100,000 for the first time yesterday.
Which — given Trump’s spectacular failure to do anything about the pandemic this whole time — was as inevitable as it is tragic.

Here’s where things stand as of 6:20 Wednesday evening:
It looks increasingly like Joe Biden will be declared the winner by tomorrow.
Assuming that happens, then what?
1. We will have to remain hyper-vigilant to block Trump from clinging to power illegitimately.
2. We will have to get through several months of a lame duck Trump presidency. Those four words — “lame duck Trump presidency” — should make your skin crawl.
3. And, as we escort a defeated Trump out the door (again, assuming Biden prevails once all the votes are counted) we have to prepare to maneuver for maximum impact in a situation where Mitch McConnell is likely to remain in control of the Senate.
Is there any part of those scenarios where you want Public Citizen to just stand aside and let the chips fall where they may?
Or are you counting on Public Citizen to fight whatever shenanigans Trump tries over the weeks and months ahead and to plot a progressive course forward?
Please donate today to help make sure we don’t have to back down from fighting Trump, on multiple fronts, for as long as it takes.
