John,
Unfortunately, Tuesday didn’t turn out as we had hoped. There are still ballots left to be counted and I want you to know that those votes matter—but there just aren’t enough ballots out there to get us over the finish line.
So today, I want to say thank you. Together we accomplished amazing things. We recruited over 3,000 volunteers, 130 interns, and fellows. Our team of staff and volunteers made 4 million phone calls, wrote 40,000 postcards and letters, and sent over one million texts to voters. And we received 152,000 contributions that fueled these efforts.
This is unprecedented and that work will help Democrats up and down the ballot for decades to come. I am so thankful for every single one of you who donated, wrote, called, sent texts, letters, and postcards. Your faith in me is something I will carry with me always.
This campaign proved to Washington insiders that rural America and the North Country is a place worth fighting for. It’s a place of amazing strength and resolve; it’s a place worth loving; it’s a place to call home.
I know I’ve asked a lot of you through these years, so today, I will make my final ask and give you my final promise.
Don’t stop fighting, because I promise you’ll never fight alone.
From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you for standing with me on this journey.
Gratefully,
Tedra
