Dear Morris County Democrat,

Thank you for your support and help in this year's most consequential election! Thanks to your support, we've carried our state for Vice President Biden and Senator Booker and re-elected our two outstanding members of Congress, Tom Malinowski and Mikie Sherrill.    

We are cautiously optimistic that we are going to do very well here in Morris County when all ballots are counted

It is very important that we all remain patient and allow for the remaining ballots to be counted in our county. This process may very well take another two weeks, as there are more than 100,000 additional vote by mail ballots to count in addition to the roughly 13,000 provisional ballots.   Vote by mail ballots postmarked by election day can be received up until November 10th, and provisional ballots cannot be counted until November 11th. Voters who have had their ballot invalidated due to a signature issue have until November 17th to cure their ballot.  

As such, it is quite likely that it will take another two weeks to get the full results in for such races as Morris County Freeholder, District 25 State Senate and District 25 Assembly.  

I want to thank Rupande Mehta, Darcy Draeger and Cary Amaro for the incredible campaigns they have run for Legislature and Freeholder.  We currently narrowly lead these races but due to the sheer number of uncounted ballots, we need to wait another two weeks to get the final results in.  

I want to thank all of our local candidates for municipal office, a good many who will end up winning their races when all votes are counted.

In America, we believe that everyone should have a chance to have their ballots counted.  We believe strongly that each and every person who took the time to vote in Morris County this year deserves to have their vote counted and their voice heard.  We look forward to the complete results which we believe will be very good for the Democratic party in our county.
