Friends, This election has been the fight of our lives, and unprecedented on so many levels. From massive numbers of early voters to historic turnout across the country, millions of Americans from all walks of life engaged in our most important civic duty, made all the more significant given the current state of the nation. The National Immigration Law Center’s Immigrant Justice Fund (IJF) was extremely active in fighting back against Donald Trump’s anti-immigrant agenda by asking persuadable voters in key battleground states to reject his hateful attacks on communities of people attempting to thrive in this country. In two of the three states where IJF ran more than 11 million digital ads, Arizona and Wisconsin, Joe Biden leads and is projected to win, adding 21 electoral votes to his column. In our third state, North Carolina, the results appear to be neck and neck and we will not know the final count for several days as mail ballots continue to come in, well within the state’s designated eligibility period. As we await results from several remaining battleground states, we support the efforts underway to ensure this election is administered fairly, and that all votes are counted. Many lives hang in the balance. Nonpartisan local election administrators must be allowed to do their job and make sure every vote is counted.
